What never ceases to amaze me about Sonic Youth is there ability to stay fresh and continually produce unique and relevant work in all forms of media. Kim Gordon, in particular, has been creating some interesting work as of late, releasing a batch of fantastic new paintings titled The Noise Paintings (below) and a killer new book Performing/Guzzling (above). While I can only imagine the hipster debates over the meta-no-waveness of these works, I think Gordon's haunting playfulness pretty much speaks for itself. Get the book at Nieves.
