Encinitas-based RAEN Optics have been getting a great deal of attention as of late, most of which coming from their recently leaked additions for Spring/Summer 2010. On top of their staple frames, RAEN will be dropping three new looks for their sophomore effort - one of which includes a collaboration with Alex Knost (see above). Taking equal inspirations from vintage windsors, surfboards, and the desires of their fellow artists - think Thomas Campbell, Pat Graham and the gentlemen of Modest Mouse - RAEN's latest collection brings to mind such classic names as Moscot and Persol - or better yet, Andy Warhol stuck on the beach. Something tells me RAEN will have much more than 15 minutes coming their way.
