With attention spans getting shorter and the art of the gentleman fading to obscurity, my excitement over Walter Lamond's new book "Rules for My Unborn Son" should come as no surprise. This little gem of life "rules" is a pocket-packed treasure for both boys and girls, passing along quips of advise that are both humorous and compelling...and most importantly, they're lessons we should all have memorized. Lamond sums it up as follows: Boys need rules. One man's instructions for raising a thoughtful, adventurous, honest, hard-working, self-reliant, well-dressed, well-read, well-mannered young gentleman.
Here are a few of my favorites from his fantastic blog:

401. You can do your homework after you finish playing outside.
393. Never eat lunch at your desk.
390. Eat lunch with the new kid.
378. It's not a gang without the cool girl.
369. You don't get to choose your own nickname.
358. If you have to make more than one substitution, order something else.
331. Be subtle. She sees you.
